Position Summary
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and collaborating with project resources and stakeholders form across PWL, the Business Analyst will be responsible for delivering effective and timely solutions to PWL’s evolving business needs with a particular focus on improving process quality and scalability. This role is ideal for an individual with business analyst and project experience with knowledge of capital markets, wealth management, financial planning, tax, portfolio management and who possess a natural ability understand processes and controls. The successful candidate should have the ability to work well within a dynamic team in a high-pressure environment. This position is not client-facing.
Please note that this is an 18-month term contract position.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead working groups with stakeholders, project resources, and senior management to define problem statements, gather requirements, and prioritize projects and initiatives
- Develop detailed system/software requirements documents to support solution development
- Deliver high-quality project artifacts aligned with business needs
- Collaborate with the technology team and senior management to define future-state processes and ensure alignment with the company’s strategic direction
- Contribute to decisions related to solution architecture and technology choices
- Lead change management activities, including impact analysis, communication planning, training documentation, and tracking user feedback
- Ensure solutions meet business requirements by coordinating and executing requirements testing, tracking results, and prioritizing bug fixes and enhancements
- Support post-implementation activities by managing the solution backlog (bugs and features) and maintaining user documentation
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ business analysis experience in other fields or related experience in project work
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred in IT or Business Administration or combination of bachelor’s degree and relevant work experience
- Experience in project management methodology considered an asset (Scrum, Kanban, Agile Waterfall)
- Strong understanding of business concepts (with focus on wealth management, Finance and CRMs)
- Persuasive communications skills (bilingualism considered an asset), advanced writing and editing skills,
- Proven ability to distill complex information into clear and compelling communications including the ability to adapt writing styles for different audiences and vehicles
- Ability to work independently or with others with minimal direction.
- Broad understanding of IT domain experience, strong technical skills, business intelligence (working with data), and ability to fully understand the needs of the user
- Demonstrated analytical skills including broad knowledge / use of business analysis tools such as business process mapping, use cases and various diagrams and process optimization
- Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking abilities
- Demonstrated ability to quickly absorb and understand new and/or complex information and concepts
- Experience in business transformation and system implementation (Insurance, Finance and HR fields preferred)
- Intermediate Knowledge in Office 365, SharePoint, Power Platform (Apps and Flows)
- Basic SQL knowledge and CRM Knowledge considered assets
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools (such as generative AI assistants, AI-powered analytics platforms, or similar) to accelerate research, synthesize information, and enhance the quality of analysis and deliverables — while applying sound judgment to evaluate, filter, and act on AI-generated outputs
