Video & Podcast Producer

Position Summary 

The Video & Podcast Producer leads the end-to-end production of video and podcast content across PWL’s Brand Experience ecosystem. This role is responsible for producing high-quality video, audio, and motion content that supports thought leadership, client education, advisor engagement, and brand storytelling initiatives. 

The role oversees the full production lifecycle – from recording and editing to publishing and distribution, ensuring all content is polished, engaging, and aligned with PWL’s brand standards. It also plays a key role in supporting flagship podcast production, including the Rational Reminder, as well as video content for YouTube, webinars, advisor communications, and digital campaigns. 

In addition to core production responsibilities, this role contributes creative direction, develops motion graphics and visual assets, and supports the expansion of PWL’s video-first and audio-first content strategy across platforms. 

Key Responsibilities 

Video Production & Editing  

• Edit and produce high-quality video content across multiple formats, including client education videos, webinars, advisor recordings, thought leadership content, and internal communications. 
• Manage the end-to-end video production process, including ingesting footage, editing, colour correction, audio balancing, and final rendering. 
• Prepare video content for publication across platforms such as YouTube, website channels, internal platforms, and social media. 
• Ensure all video content is aligned with PWL brand guidelines, tone, and visual identity standards. 

Podcast Production & Audio Editing 

• Lead the production workflow for podcast content, including recording setup, file management, editing, mixing, and final audio production. 
• Support the production of flagship podcasts (e.g., Rational Reminder), including hosting remote recordings (Zoom or equivalent), coordinating guests, and troubleshooting audio/video issues. 
• Edit podcast episodes, remove filler content, enhance clarity, and ensure professional audio quality. 
• Draft and refine episode transcripts, show notes, and supporting written materials for distribution. 
• Manage publishing workflows for podcast platforms and ensure timely release of episodes. 

Motion Graphics & Creative Development 

• Create animated assets and motion graphics to enhance video and podcast content. 
• Develop visual storytelling elements such as intros, outros, lower-thirds, transitions, and branded templates. 
• Build custom animations beyond standard presets using Adobe After Effects or equivalent tools. 
• Support creative initiatives such as campaign visuals, data visualizations, and educational animations. 

Content Distribution & Social Media Support 

• Create short-form video clips and highlight reels from podcast episodes and long-form video content. 
• Collaborate with the Brand Experience team to support content calendars and distribution strategies. 
• Optimize content formats for various platforms, including YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, and internal communications channels. 
• Ensure consistency and quality across all published digital content. 

Production Coordination & Technical Support 

• Manage recording logistics for video and podcast sessions, including scheduling, setup, and technical support. 
• Troubleshoot audio and video issues during live or recorded sessions. 
• Maintain and organize media assets, ensuring efficient file management and version control. 
• Continuously improve production workflows and recommend tools or process enhancements to increase efficiency. 

Brand & Quality Standards 

• Uphold and enforce brand guidelines across all video, podcast, and motion content. 
• Ensure consistency in tone, visual identity, and production quality across all deliverables. 
• Collaborate closely with Marketing, Brand Experience, and advisory teams to ensure alignment with strategic messaging and priorities. 

Special Projects & Creative Initiatives 

• Lead or support ad hoc creative projects such as animated campaigns, event videos, digital signage content, holiday campaigns, and internal storytelling initiatives. 
• Contribute creative ideas for enhancing PWL’s video and podcast presence and expanding content reach. 
• Support experimentation with new content formats, storytelling approaches, and production techniques. 

Qualifications 

• 3–5+ years of experience in video production, podcast production, motion design, or a closely related creative role. 
• Experience working in marketing, media production, financial services, or professional services environments is considered an asset. 
• Proven experience producing both video and audio content from concept to delivery. 
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Audition. 
• Experience with podcast production tools and workflows (e.g., Zoom, Riverside, Descript, or similar platforms). 
• Solid understanding of video editing principles, including pacing, storytelling, audio mixing, and visual continuity. 
• Strong motion graphics skills with the ability to build custom animations beyond templates or presets. 
• Familiarity with content management and publishing platforms (YouTube, podcast hosting platforms, etc.). 
• Basic understanding of file management, codecs, and export optimization for multiple platforms. 
• Strong creative storytelling ability across both audio and visual formats. 
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to production quality. 
• Strong time management skills with the ability to manage recurring production schedules and ad hoc projects. 
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a cross-functional team. 
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical and production challenges in real time. 
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven content environment. 
• Experience in financial services or professional services content production. 
• Familiarity with YouTube channel management and growth strategy. 
• Experience creating content for educational, advisory, or thought leadership purposes. 
• Audio engineering experience or advanced sound design skills.
