Position Summary
PWL Capital is one of the fastest growing wealth management firms in Canada, and we need your help to stay on top of the growth. Therefore, if you are looking to develop a career in the financial industry by joining a middle or back-office team this is the position for you. This position is ideal for someone with an interest in financial services, with strong administrative skills and attention to detailed work. Experience in the securities industry, in a support function, middle or back office is considered an asset.
This is an internal administrative and support role, which is non-client facing. However, your responsibilities can evolve over time based on skill set and career goals.
Primary Responsibilities & Activities
The successful candidate will be responsible for all account documentation for the team, including ensuring that our regulatory requirements are fulfilled. You will be the main point of contact with our Corporate Operations & Compliance team, mastering our firm’s documentation processes and maintaining working knowledge of compliance requirements.
- Gather client information and ensure its accuracy in our database across different platforms
- Supporting teams in delivering relevant and timely client communications
- Keep up to date with CIRO and compliance requirements
- Delivering service to our advisor teams within SLAs
- Participate in firmwide initiatives on subject matter experts
- Perform financial and account level data reconciliations
- Adhere to and suggest improvements to current processes and procedures.
Qualifications and Skills
We’re looking for an individual with the right skill set, work ethic, and personality to fit in with our team. While prior experience in financial services administration is an asset, it’s not essential if you meet the following requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both English and French, required;
- Post-secondary degree or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or related work experience;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, (Word, Excel & Outlook) required;
- Experience in the banking or securities industry
- Two years of administrative experience with a CIRO dealer member is an asset;
- Understanding of the Canadian investment industry and the types of accounts available to Canadian investors (TFSA, RSP, LIF etc.)
- Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively;
- Ability to learn new systems quickly, problem solving and adapt to evolving processes;
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Strong work ethic, maturity, and commitment to client service;
- Committed to ethical and professional standards regarding confidentiality of client information;
- An enthusiastic team player who can work effectively with others both internally and externally
- Ability to adapt to an evolving role
