Montreal, QC – October 1, 2026 — PWL Capital (PWL) continues to expand its national team with the addition of Thomson Allison Financial Solutions, a financial planning and advisory practice based in St. Jacobs, Ontario, effective October 1, 2026.
Thomson Allison brings PWL a presence in southwestern Ontario and strengthens its ability to serve families across Kitchener, Waterloo, and the surrounding region. The integration reflects PWL’s ongoing effort to bring together like-minded advisory teams committed to evidence-based investing and long-term financial decision-making.
“Succeeding over the long term takes competence, resources, and the right ideas. PWL has all three,” said Craig Allison, president of Thomson Allison Financial Solutions. “We explored many options over the past few years, and when I first met with PWL, I immediately felt at home. Our clients will work with the same team, in the same way, with a larger organization behind us.”
Thomson Allison traces its roots to 1968, when Roy Thomson began advising clients in Kitchener. His son Stuart joined in 1994, and Craig Allison came on as partner in 2015, taking over as president and lead advisor when Stuart retired in 2018. Allison joined the practice after 14 years with a global investment company and eight years as director of marketing at a financial software company. From its St. Jacobs office, the practice provides retirement planning, investment management, and tax planning to families across the region.
To support the transition, Jordan Carter, CFP®, CIM®, CFA, joins the St. Jacobs team on October 1, bringing 15 years of industry experience, the last five at PWL.
“We’re about 150 people now, and it truly is one team working with one set of clients,” said Cameron Passmore, CEO of PWL Capital. “Most of the people here found us through our content and came for what we believe in. Craig and his team share that. Keeping the same client relationships through two successions since 1968 shows Thomson Allison served clients well, and our job is to add depth, not to change what works.”
The Thomson Allison team will fully integrate into PWL Capital and continue working with clients, supported by the firm’s planning and investment resources. Over the coming months, clients will move from the practice’s current dealer, Investia Financial Services, to PWL Capital.
Thomson Allison joins following PWL’s recent acquisitions as the firm continues building a national platform centred on planning-first advice and evidence-based investing. These partnerships reflect a broader effort to unite advisory teams around a shared philosophy and consistent standards of advice.
As PWL continues to grow, the firm remains focused on its core mission: helping Canadians make better financial decisions through disciplined investing and thoughtful financial planning.
Founded in 1996 in Montreal, Canada, PWL is an independent retirement and wealth firm with over $9B in AUM, offering holistic, full-service wealth management expertise to Canadians.
